Winery review: This is a young, fresh, lively Barbera with a persistent and attractive bouquet of black cherries and a bit of spice on the palate. It has few tannins which is typical of the Barbera varietal, and a medium finish. Delightfully approachable, pairs great with cheese, barbecue and game.
My review: I won't lie, I basically smelt alcohol in the glass here, maybe some earthy tones as well. The taste wasn't exactly what I was hoping for but that probably was a lot to due with the smell I did not particularly enjoy. I got tastes of blackberries and a very tanniny feel. The finish wasn't very good either. This one definitely was not it for me, Chief.
The Pairing: I did not pair this wine with any food
My Score: 5.2/10
