Winery review: Aromas of gooseberry and tropical fruits
My review: Delicious! Cherries, cassis and black pepper on the palate with a nice light earthiness. Smooth with good tannin structure. I think its a little lighter than they mention above - doesn't punch you in the mouth too much. Good balance as well.
Aromas: gooseberry and tropical fruits
Pairing: Chicken Alfredo
Palate Test: Very fruity, not sure what gooseberry is supposed to taste like but I almost get a mimosa type taste, which is good. Very topical palate and feels very light, if the makes sense. This was paired with a chicken Alfredo dish that was hand prepared by myself using only the finest of Food Lion brand Penne pasta and creamy Alfredo sauce that was available. The wine complimented the dish very nicely with the white meat chicken and pasta in Alfredo sauce. I would almost say this would go well as an early day wine if that is what you are into, I mean its what I’m into.
Conclusion:
I loved this sauvignon blanc. It came on light and finished with a tropical taste. It paired well with my chicken dish and I think it would pair well with any white meat or fish, and maybe some light deserts. Also possibly a great early day drinking wine.
Score: 8.1/10.
